Minister's letter.Read More
Thursday 4th March 2021
Welcome to the first of our monthly letters. It’s hard to imagine that almost a year ago we were hearing news of this coronavirus which soon made us all stay home and go into lockdown. We now have strategies for moving forward beyond the pandemic subject to reviews. How do you feel about this? Are you waiting for both vaccines before you do anything, are you eager to see people or are you nervous? As I have said many times in these letters; it is ok to feel how you feel. We are all different. We were all forced into lockdown a year and for many home is where we have stayed all this time. Some have remained at work, many on the frontline. Together, we will prayerful move forward and figure it all out. Day by day. In the midst of all this, we hold on tight to God’s leading and share His love and His peace as we go.
March is all about MARVELLOUS MOMENTS! What marvellous moments have pointed you to God? Has something made you marvel at all that God does? Have there been marvellous moments in your faith journey that you would like to share? Please get in touch and share your MARVELLOUS MOMENTS for MARCH.
1. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvellous things;
his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
4. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
God our Father, you created the world and sent your own Son to live among
us, made of the same stuff, breathing the same air, marvelling at sunrise
and sunset just as we do. Help us to participate in the life around and
within us as your life, as you living in us and we living in you and in
each other. God of love and life, restore us to your peace, renew us
through your power and teach us to love all that you have created and to
care for the earth as your gift and our home. Amen
As we continue to journey through Lent, let us remember those commitments we made on Ash Wednesday or the days that follow. By the end of the month, we begin our journey through Holy Week. We gather on zoom on Palm Sunday. The circuit invite you all to create your palm cross displays on your front door and send photos in like last year. Holy Week Tears will be available from the circuit website / social media every day. Monday to Friday of Holy Week you are invited to join Deacon Pru & myself for Holy Week prayers at 12noon (my zoom code) for prayers and reflections (20-30 mins) then social time afterwards. Maundy Thursday evening we will gather as a circuit. Holy Saturday at 10am the holiday club team will be leading Easter activities and worship. You will need to bring things with you. See the poster due out shortly. Easter Sunday we join together on zoom. Keep an eye on the circuit website for all the events taking place. You are invited to join in as you can on our journey through Holy Week to Easter.
Reopening is being discussed across the churches in the Circuit as we follow guidelines and seek to remain Covid-19 safe. Please continue to pray for the reopening of each church as we are able. We continue to look for people to take up the roles within Moston and Crumpsall of treasurers, stewards, and safeguarding co-ordinator. If you are able to take on these roles, please get in touch as this is URGENT.
Stay safe. Stay well. Hold each other in prayer. Don’t forget, I would love to hear your story of faith. Please get in touch.
Love and prayers, Sharon
