Dear Friends,
If you have read the Circuit Connected then you will know that I love October….getting out on a crisp day to kick the leaves and enjoy wrapping up, although I am not sure I like wet Autumn days. A new month has started and we think about the month ahead. This week we have met on zoom for those able to for each church for stewards and church council. It was great seeing everyone and having good conversations. I do not like video calling or zoom and admire anyone who has to do this regularly or have been doing this for a long time in work. It is great to see so many of you engaging with so many new ways of communicating. If you need help, please let me know and I will do my best. I am learning fast with zoom and I am thankful to those who have let me practise and begin to figure it out. Like anything it will take some practise. Earlier this week I headed out for a run. I didn’t want to go. I was cold. I was tired. So I convinced myself that everything always feels better once I have been outside in the fresh air. Running kit on and out the door I went. As I set off something made me doubt myself….I thought about the times when running felt easier and I could go much further. I had to tell myself to refocus on today. This is where I am…..look ahead and watch where you are going. Looking behind is dangerous, looking down isn’t that good either. Good posture is needed and eyes up to see the environment around….I then saw the huge pile of dry colourful leaves glistening in the sun. Yes you are right, that’s just what I did. Gave them a jolly good kick and made myself giggle. My run reminded of Paul’s words in Philippians that remind us that we should forget what is behind and focus on what’s ahead. The pandemic means we can’t return to what has been and we look to the future. This month we will gather together across the 3 churches of Crumpsall, Long Street & Moston to worship on zoom. You can join us on zoom via a smart phone, tablet or computer as well as by telephone. If you haven't had a personal invitation with the joining codes please e-mail the church e-mail address.
Come and celebrate HARVEST this Sunday – join the call from 10.40 for us to begin at 10.45am
We will sing, pray, read scripture and ponder together then head into breakout rooms to chat together. Bring your cuppa and let’s worship God together in new ways.
With love and prayers,
Sharon
